In 2014, when I was received into the Church, I was convinced of the historical reality of the Church. After being Catechized in the dogma and beliefs of the Church, I eventually developed a strong interest in historical Orthodox Christian societies, The Byzantine Empire, and Russian Empire in particular. For years after I developed a hobby of personal study of the Philosophy of Statecraft, and History, which of course led to the development of a Worldview that I believe to be in line with the Tradition of the Orthodox Church. The great political ideal of a Christian Empire, operating with Symphonia between Church and State. This is signified by the symbol of the Eagle with two heads. My shift in Worldview was a dramatic shift personally. Prior to becoming Orthodox, I was a progressive to say the least, even considering myself a Socialist at one time. But after encountering Orthodoxy, I surrendered entirely to the Church, accepting it as the sole habitation of the fullness of truth. Suddenly I’m rejecting all enlightenment ideals, questioning Democracy, and fancying the old Christian Monarchs. When I began to take these views public, and then get involved in politics, I was squarely perceived to be a “right wing extremist.” I don’t mind that label if I’m being honest. I’m a classical reactionary, desiring a restoration of the Classical Christian Worldview and its Kingdoms. I don’t want to live under a regime in which the Church is subjected to its own ideals, nor do I want a State totally subjected to the Church. Rather, I want both heads of the Eagle to work together in Symphony over its respective spheres of authority. After working on numerous campaigns, working with various Republican organizations, and “movements” I no longer have any confidence in the viability of an electoral path towards an Orthodox Vision. You may have noticed a lack of consistent content from me lately, and that’s because I’ve been busy doing some things down here in Texas. In the spirit of doing some things, I believe that building an Orthodox System of Symphonia will require strategic infiltration and leverage of existing State Sovereign institutions.
An old friend of mine, Nick Fuentes recently stated, “What we need is a new Roman Empire.” I agree! But not the pagan one. Anyhow, I can’t help but think about the influence of organizations within the Roman government, such as the Praetorian Guard. The Praetorian Guard began as elite bodyguards for high level military commanders, but eventually they became both Kingmakers and King slayers. When the succession of a Caesar was unclear, for most of Pre-Byzantine Roman History, it was them that decided the legitimate Emperor. The Praetorian Guard’s luck ran out with Saint Constantine, when they backed one of his rivals, and upon defeat were dissolved and replaced with the Scholae Palatinae. However, The Praetorian Guard did exist during the Roman Republic days before the Caesars. You have to wonder the extent or intentionality to which they contributed towards the transition out of pure Republicanism into Autocratic rule. Perhaps a topic for more research later. My suspicion is that the Praetorian Guard’s role in the development of Autocracy in the Roman Empire was very intentional. By the time Saint Constantine came to power, the Praetorian Guard were squarely on the side of Evil, but they inadvertently played a role in establishing an Icon of the Heavenly Kingdom on Earth.
I also frequently contemplate a far more grim part of history, and how the Bolsheviks came to power. The level of organization required, with their central committee. The infiltration of Russian institutions, and sympathetic networking developed in nearly every segment of Russian society. The manner in which they masked offense as defense, and its leadership's persistent and decisive interventions. These practical strategies were combined with propaganda, which grew massive sympathy from the populace. However, they also took advantage of circumstance in a timely manner. Namely, the immensely unpopular war effort, and a weak provincial government. Basically when the time was right and ideal to make a move, the Bolsheviks did just that. Unfortunately that would be at the cost of millions of Orthodox Christians lives, and bring about the bloodiest persecution in Church History.
Imagine if such an effort was seamlessly executed by Godly Orthodox men in Texas? Demographic issues are in fact still a problem in Texas, however I believe Texas is a promising location for the 4th Rome. With nice geography for future Naval operations, plenty of natural resources, and massive land mass in general, let’s just go ahead and call it the future Texantine Empire. Anyhow, we don’t know what the future holds, but we might as well attempt to build an Orthodox Christian society here in Texas. I’m looking for help. Any adult male can help, but I am particularly looking for College Educated Orthodox Men, under 50, and physically fit (ability to get fit). Reach out if interested.
I also want to provide a Substack Channel update. I do apologize for not publishing consistent content. It was my intent to accept submissions from others, and publish those for a steady flow of content. However, there hasn’t really been as much interest as anticipated. I’m still open to publishing others if I feel that the content is a good fit. My schedule has freed up a bit for the summer, so I’ll be writing more. No promises on the podcast (my co-host had to quit because of travel obligations with the Republicans for National Renewal). However, I personally have an interest in writing about Canonized Orthodox Kings, Texas issues, and of course my favorite hobby of refuting modern Judaism. Feel free to reach out. editor@thetexasvisionary.com
